World Telecommunication Day (WTD) has been celebrated annually on 17 May since 1969. The date marks the anniversary of the foundation of ITU on 17 May 1865. The theme for WTD of 2019 is ‘Bridging the standardization gap’.
It’s rightly said ‘An efficient telecommunication network is the foundation upon which an information society is build’.
Students of Meenakshi World School conducted a special assembly on World Telecommunication Day. Learners were informed about the meaning of Telecommunication through a short speech. Students of Grade 4 & 5 displayed images of devices used in telecommunication along with its advantages. The details of different Telecommunication industries of INDIA were also shared to emphasise the importance of Telecommunication.
After providing the relevant information to learners, a small quiz activity was conducted to appraise the retention of information amongst them.
