Special Assembly on World No Tobacco Day
A burnt cigarette ash said, “Today it’s me because of you! But tomorrow it will be you because of me”…
Quit Smoking before Life Quits You
On Thursday, 31st May 2018, students of Meenakshi World School were appraised about the harmful effects of tobacco by commemorating World No Tobacco Day in a special assembly. Through a presentation data related to the adverse effects of tobacco resulting in deadly diseases and deaths was shared. A video was also shown wherein students could see the condition of lungs, heart, teeth and other parts of the body after tobacco usage. Every year, on 31 May, WHO and partners mark World No Tobacco Day, highlighting the health and other risks associated with tobacco use, and advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2018 is "Tobacco and heart disease." The assembly was indeed important keeping in mind the enormous number of deaths caused by the usage of tobacco. On this day we urge everyone to come together in the complete eradication of tobacco from the world.
