  • “All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence”

    -         Martin Luther King

For sensitizing students about the contribution of labourers and working class towards the society, a special assembly commemorating International Labor Day was organized on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Meenakshi World School. Through an informative speech, Snehal, a student of grade seventh briefed about the history of Labour Day and the reasons for celebrating Labour Day worldwide. A group of students then sang “We Shall Overcome” as a song of unity to be with the helping hands and share their work. Further, through a dance drama, a group of students from grades fifth and sixth reiterated the notions of dignity of labour and the fact that labourers ought to be respected and their rights taken care of. Inculcating the virtues of honouring helpers, the young minds learnt to be more sensitive towards the helping staff around so that in the coming days, they shall be able to help them rise from the slumbers of poverty and pain towards glorious days of happiness and respect.
