“We are born not to die”…..
International Day of the Girl Child, a good day to celebrate the progress India has made in advancing the rights of half its children. Students of Meenakshi World School celebrated the day on 11th October, 2017 through various activities like chart making and Slogan writing. The importance of this day was reiterated to the students by spreading awareness amongst them that the government has instituted laws and policies protecting the rights of girls and women. Today, more girls are in school, fewer girls are being married before the age of 18, and more young women are growing up to be successful agents of their own change. However, there is still a lot of progress to be made.
