Ayurveda is the science and Yoga is the practice of the science, Yoga and Ayurveda are inseparable sisters.Both originate as a part of the greater system of Vedic knowledge.Yoga originates in the Yajurveda, while Ayurveda originates in Rigveda and later described in Atharvaveda. Both Yoga and Ayurveda are based on the principles of,” Triguna (Sattava, Rajas and Tamas) and “Panchamahabhutas” (Earth, Space, Air, Water and Fire).

Ayurveda and Yoga have a common understanding of the body being dependent on the health and balance of the mind. In treatment, both Yoga and Ayurveda advocate for the regular practice of Pranayam and Meditation as well as use of herbs, body purification procedures, use of Sattvic food and chanting of mantras for physical and mental well-being.

In Yoga, the body purification procedure has been explained as “Satkriyas” and in Ayurveda, they are known as “Panchakarma”. Both recognize that keeping the body healthy is vital for fulfilling the four aims of life- Dharma(Duty), Artha (Wealth), Kama (Desire) and Moksha (Liberation).Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that has contributed in the holistic living of individual in the most natural and trusted way since years. Yoga is like a spiritual route to a relaxed mind and healthy body.There are several different forms of yoga such as HATHA YOGA, POWER YOGA, BIKRAM YOGA, and AQUA YOGA.

Most styles are based on the basic Yoga poses called Asanas and incorporate basic breathing exercises called Pranayamas. Ideally, it's best to stick to the most traditional form which is physical in nature.Breathing is the foundation of yoga and is considered the highest form of purification and detoxification.
